Our story

Born from a gap
no one was filling.

Volance was founded in 2019 by two former commercial aviation executives with a single conviction: the people who needed private jets most — founders, dealmakers, surgeons, athletes — were the ones least served by the existing options.

Ownership required capital most wouldn't commit. Charter brokers were inconsistent and opaque. Fractional programs punished flexibility with rigid contracts and deadhead fees. We built the model that should have existed: transparent, membership-based, and built around how high-performers actually move through the world.

2019

Founded in Miami

Volance launched with a fleet of 12 light jets and 80 founding members who believed private aviation deserved a better model.

2021

Expanded to Europe

Opened our London operations hub, growing the fleet to 140 aircraft and establishing coverage across 28 European countries.

2023

1,000 members

Reached our first thousand-member milestone. Launched the Elite tier and introduced the carbon-offset program across all flights.

Volance is a membership club, not a broker or aircraft owner. We contract exclusively with IS-BAO Stage 3 certified operators across 52 countries — each vetted for safety, service, and consistency. You get the reliability of a dedicated operator with the scale of a global network, and a single point of contact regardless of where you fly.

We cover 52 countries and 3,500+ airports globally, including many destinations commercial airlines don't serve. If you have an unusual route, your concierge will source an aircraft within our extended network at no markup above your membership hourly rate. In seven years of operations, we've turned down fewer than 30 requested routes.

Yes — unused included hours roll over once, for up to 12 months. If your Essential membership includes 25 hours and you use 18, the remaining 7 carry forward automatically. You'll receive a reminder 60 days before expiry, with the option to gift hours or donate them through our charitable flights program.

Changes are free if made more than 24 hours before departure. Cancellations more than 12 hours out incur no charge — flight hours are returned in full to your account. Cancellations within 12 hours are charged at 50% of the hourly rate. We understand schedules change, so we've designed our policy to be fair rather than punitive.

NetJets requires fractional ownership starting above $500K. Wheels Up operates a large owned fleet that has faced documented reliability issues at scale. Volance requires no asset commitment, charges no deadhead fees, and delivers a consistent experience through a curated operator network — not volume. Our 97% annual retention rate is the honest measure of the difference.

Month-to-month memberships are available with 30 days' notice to cancel. Annual commitments receive a 10% discount on the monthly fee. Elite memberships are annual only with a 90-day cancellation window. There is a one-time $500 enrollment fee for all tiers, waived for the first 100 new members each quarter.
